Birding at Pinckney Bend

A number of bald eagles winter here; not only can you watch the eagles flying over the river valley, sometimes they perch right in our trees!  Snow geese and even white pelicans are also common in winter it is interesting to watch them land on the sandbars below.


Of course, the forest surrounding the sides of the B&B is filled with Missouri woodland birds, such as owls, pileated woodpeckers, red-bellied and downy woodpeckers, nutchatches, cardinals, black-capped chickadees, tufted titmouse, goldfinches and the like. Here are just a few:
